Meet Myles!

Myles Seth Hendler-Voss was born on Thursday, January 25th at 4:10am. He weighed 8 lbs 3 oz and was 20 inches long. We think he looks a bit like Seth. So far, we are loving life as new parents, despite the lack of sleep. Myles is breastfeeding, having some diaper "blow outs" (we even managed to witness one mid diaper change), sleeping, sighing, and crying. I hope to put up some more pictures later as we find the time to take some more photos. I will also post another blog (hopefully tomorrow) about the long and hard labor and delivery...I'm getting lots of pressure from husband to get to bed, so I'll sign off for now. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we begin this parenting adventure! One quick note on the house: we hope to move in on Sunday, and so on Monday our address will officially change to 30 Gray St. The rest of the address is the same as our current one, and our phone number will be the same as well. More updates to come, thanks for being patient with us as we still don't know where the time goes every day.

Cankles

Well, I woke up this morning missing my right ankle. It's lost in a drift of swollen skin, I'm just hoping it will return someday soon. I am actually feeling swollen all over (my wedding ring doesn't fit any more), truly ready for this baby to come. Due date is Saturday, and if the baby doesn't come then, I'm hoping for February 2nd (which is a full moon). I think the longest they would let me go beyond that is February 10th. So the end is within sight! Maybe today...we are very ready to meet this baby (and I look forward to the return of my ankle).

We are hoping to get the certificate of occupancy for the house by Friday and move our stuff over the weekend (then move in ourselves not too much later). Painters and plumber are finishing up this week, there's a little more grading to be done, some built in bookshelves to go up, and then the cleaning. We are working on getting utilities switched over, though the gas line may hold us up some. All the appliances are in!

Diaper Buffet

Here is the lovely changing table, a gift from bob and gail. Susan and David bought a matching crib. Thanks also to Aunt Irene who donated the changing matress and soft blue cover. Gail put most of the changing table together with some assistance from Bob. Pictured here are the three types of diapers we'll be trying out- no not on ourselves, but the baby. First from the left is the standard disposable, the cloth and the "g" diaper with the disposable liner. In time, you'll get the opportunity to try your hand at changing one of them...

More House

If you look left you can see the beautiful kitchen cabinetry bob and corey and hugh installed over the past 2 weeks. You can also spot the new bamboo flooring that we'll be sliding across for next many years. This week we are told the flooring will be done and the plumbing fixtures will be in. Our builder thinks we will be in before the end of the month, but we've already set up the temporary nursery at our rental on Woodrow as a precaution.
